Strangely, my 3 year old son is really into this. I never saw the Favreau Jungle Book, but it seems like this Mowgli movie isn’t really necessary. Sounds similar to that other (supposedly better) one. I’ve heard Mowgli is darker than that one (which makes sense, since that one has Bill Murray as a fun Baloo). It sounds like Favreau’s would be more up my son’s alley, actually. But he’s a funny little dude, so who knows. That one’s not on Netflix and this one is. I like that Andy Serkis is directing. I’ve always been a fan of his. And this isn’t a bad movie, per se. It’s supposed to be more accurate to the book. And it’s got some cool special effects. But I’d say if you already saw and liked the Favreau Jungle Book…why would you watch this one? (again, I have not even seen that one)
