I have to learn to appreciate Super Hero Movies for what they are – entertainment. Ever since the Super Hero Movie industry blew up, there’s been this push to take super heroes more seriously. Christopher Nolan’s Batman Trilogy had something to do with that. And the large (and growing) fan base tries to support this notion as well, which in turn causes the movie studios to do the same. But being serious is not the point of a super hero story. It’s fine if it has that. But it should be fun. That’s the point. Doctor Strange was fun.

I suppose I’ll probably tend to gravitate more towards the fringe elements of the Comic universe. They’re more interesting. But I find myself giving Super Hero Movies more of a chance lately. And it’s been pretty fun. I found myself pretty intrigued by the after-credits scenes, involving Thor and Mordo. I want to see what happens with both of those little teases. Part of that may be that I like Benedict Cumberbatch, and I like the time-bending stuff. But part of it is that I’m starting to get kind of interested in this large super hero narrative. Which I haven’t been interested in for many years.
